About Wooden Paddle
Wooden Paddle is the Lemont and La Grange spot where wood-fired pizza, bold cocktails, and a room full of good-time energy come together. Guests call it the best date-night restaurant in the Chicago suburbs. Pies arrive blistered from the oven. Cocktails land with personality. The room feels alive without the big-city ego trip. Perfect for date nights, nights out with your people, and celebrations that deserve something fun without feeling formal. Two locations make it easy. Catering brings the same wood-fired craft home for parties, offices, and weekend gatherings. Book a table and see why locals keep this one quiet.

The pizza was good overall, but I was disappointed with the amount of cheese. The Margherita pizza had almost no cheese on it, so it honestly felt more like eating dough with sauce. The other pizza we ordered also had very little cheese. The crust and flavor were good, but I definitely expected a better balance of sauce and cheese, especially on a Margherita pizza. Hopefully they can improve the cheese portion because otherwise the pizza has good potential.

3 stars due to the disappointment the gluten and dairy free options were. Came tonight since we saw they had a gluten free crust and dairy free cheese. The dough was gooey and undercooked and the cheese was more like a breadcrumb. If the gluten free dough was cooked longer or pre-cooked that may help with the doughiness. The dairy free cheese was not cheese at all on the pizza. There was too much of it clumped on, it did add flavor but all the weird textures made it difficult to eat. The normal pizzas were delicious.

Phenomenal place and is now in my top favorites! Very chill atmosphere with smooth tunes softly playing in the background. The windows make for a bright and positive atmosphere that goes well with the simple and trendy decor. Rud guided me through the menu with wonderful suggestions that did not disappoint. They offer a French press coffee not many places offer. My plate had so many flavors and textures. Very friendlyand accommodating staff. Absolutely Phenomenal and highly recommend.

Excellent service right from the start. I loved the outdoor seating options- being under the umbrella shade made a difference and allowed for quieter dining as opposed to indoors. The menu had quirky fun names for each dish which added personality. A standout restaurant compared to many places I've fined closer to the city that try to do the same thing but with less impact. Everything ordered was delicious as described and expected. The beet salad - "Just beet it" - was elegant and satisfying with the addition of whipped goat cheese and a maple vinaigrette drizzle. Fresh beets and greens! The fresh, tart lemonade and Pineapple Express ginger lemonade soda were both standout drinks- so refreshing on a hot day. The Grandma's Pie was enjoyable too, but a slightly crispier crust would have added a more satisfying crunch (just a personal preference!). The sweetness of the tomato sauce and melted mozzarella and provolone were nicely balanced. The Tiramisu French toast had a pleasant, but not overbearing sweetness to it with a stripe of light marscapone mousse and chocolate nibs tossed on top adding a perfect touch. Compliments to the chef! I will definitely be back!

We love Wooden Paddle! Not only is the food EXCELLENT, but the staff is where they truly shine. Every time Iβve been here, our servers have been top notch. We appreciate the gentleman who was so kind to us and gave us a dessert, we were so grateful. I also ordered a pizza to go and it came with a Wooden Paddle pizza cutter. Such a cute touch. Will always be back!
